ABOUT THE ROLE
The IT Operations Manager is head of the IT Operations department, providing IT infrastructure at festival venues, inter-departmental consultation, and comprehensive needs assessment. The IT Operations Manager determines specs for equipment and designs local area networks while providing the IT Operations Coordinator and Venue IT Staff with guidance and supervision in configuration, deployment, maintenance and support of said infrastructure.     

ABOUT YOU
The IT Operations Manager should be well versed in all aspects of computer networking with a strong skillset geared towards rapid network deployment, configuring, and troubleshooting.  An ideal IT Operations Manager is proficient in all aspects of wired & wireless networks, computers (Linux, Mac or PC), tablets, printers, switches, routers, gateways, network-connected technology, and (ultimately) all technology in general. The IT Operations Manager keeps up to date with the latest technological developments for use in potential improvements to the festival’s IT deployment.  The manager must have an eye for aesthetics, and a passion for clean wire runs and smooth gaff tape.  Additionally, they must be able to guide the rest of the IT Ops department in adhering to a high standard of minimizing visual impact while maximizing network functionality.

RESPONSIBILITIES (DAY-TO-DAY AND BROAD)
  • IT Operations:
    • Providing festival departments with IT consultation services
    • Designing processes for efficiently collecting and assessing festival IT needs
    • Dictating policy regarding access to network resources
    • Overseeing distribution of equipment inventory and ensuring it’s return
  • At screening venues:
    • Confirming the integrity of existing network infrastructure
    • Negotiating access to and/or installation of new infrastructure needs
    • Overseeing load-in / breakdown of W/LAN
    • Performing a needs assessment with ticketing vendor (e.g. SquadUP), and providing them with support throughout the festival
  • At Festival Hub:
    • Negotiating bandwidth and IT needs on behalf of various departments and festival programing tracks and departments such as:
      • box office, crew, credentialing, filmmaker and industry registration, press, partnership activations, production (e.g. GoodSense), content capture & live streaming
    • The IT Ops manager also assesses needs of and provides support to:
      • Special Screenings
      • Tribeca Games
      • Tribeca Immersive
      • Tribeca Talks
  • A completed wrap report is required at conclusion of engagement

REQUIREMENTS
  • 4 – 5 years working in IT Operations, preferred work experience in live events and Festivals, managing the IT for multiple venues
  • 4 - 5 years of experience managing a team, balancing budgets
  • Proficiency with Windows, OSX, iOS, and Linux
  • Must have availability 7 days/week
  • Proficiency with command line tools to identify and troubleshoot network problems
  • Mastery of principles of IT network design
  • Mastery of LAN/WLAN/WAN network configuration
  • Mastery of Ethernet / Cat 5/6/7 cabling and termination standards
  • Ability to quickly ingest and incorporate technical manuals/information
  • Experience spec’ing, sourcing, and procuring cost effective IT solutions and equipment
  • Experience designing redundant systems using multiple ISP services
  • Comfortable moving quickly between and among multiple venues on short notice
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces while on hands and knees
  • Comfortable working on a 25 ft ladder
  • Comfortable carrying a 40 lbs load

DURATION: April 28 – June 20
LOCATION: remote until Festival, then onsite for 2x weeks
SALARY: $1,000 - $1,200 a week
