Seasonal: VR Tech Manager

The VR Tech Manager is an integral part of the Tribeca Virtual Arcade team charged with organizing and distributing all tech being used in the Arcade space. The Tech Manager should be someone who is comfortable with new technology and is proficient in the use of computers. The candidate should be able to pick up new technology quickly and learn how to operate different systems needed to run VR content. This person will be assigned a coordinator, so should posses leadership and managerial skills.

This position will report directly to the Producer but will coordinate with the Associate Producer, Artist Coordinator, and Programmers to asses all tech needs. The VR Tech manager will be responsible for coordinating the receipt and return of all VR equipment provided by our partners. In addition to technical duties, responsibilities include the organization and testing of all submitted projects.

During the Festival, the VR Tech Manager will work with the VR Tech Coordinator to assist all creators in technical set up of their respective projects and acting as on-site tech support for 25-30 projects for the length of the festival.


  • Maintain and organize workbook of project tech specs.
  • Gather and log tech info for each project
  • Assess internet/WiFi/Ethernet needs for each project and work with IT to fulfill those requests.
  • Work directly with our partners to create and maintain a delivery and pick up schedule for all provided VR gear.
  • Coordinate all warehouse as well as on-site tech deliveries and pick-ups with the Tribeca Production team   
  • Manage all tech setup, strike and troubleshooting on-site   
  • Schedule and oversee Tech Coordinator duties


  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years’ experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.
  • Must be comfortable and proficient in Mac and PC computers.
  • Must be comfortable working and learning about different forms of VR technology, including, but not limited to: Samsung Gear VR, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Google Daydream.
  • Must be able to coordinate and work directly with different departments in the festival, including Production, IT, Programming.
  • Must be comfortable interfacing with artists and project teams to assist in set-up and troubleshooting prior to and during the festival.
  • Must be flexible and comfortable working on their feet most of the day during the festival in a fast paced environment.
